The Engineer position is in the Design, Construction and Compliance section within the Office of Facilities and Property Management.
They provide code and document review for agency building projects, renovation and new construction.
The Engineer position will primarily be assigned the review of building construction documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, with the emphasis on Engineering.
The position will also serve as coordinator for use of outside Engineering firms to assist State agencies with projects up to 1 million dollars.
This position will report to the Senior Engineer on staff.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Licensed as a professional engineer by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions and five years of experience as a licensed engineer.
Valid driver’s license.
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate : A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas.
Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer .
A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.

The Kansas Department of Revenue can set you up on a payment plan to receive a Tax Clearance so you can get a job working for the State of Kansas.
