Position Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient endocrine consultation and care, both independently and in collaboration with residents.
- Provide outpatient endocrinology clinical care.
- Educate and supervise Internal Medicine residents and first through fourth year medical students.
- Participate in residency program activities and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in inpatient general Internal Medicine teaching services as needed.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the department, with opportunities for career advancement through the academic promotions process.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree, or equivalent
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship
- S. board eligible or board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama
- Commitment to excellence in clinical care, medical education, and academic medicine
