Role Overview
Develop reliable embedded software and firmware solutions for next-generation electronic products.
Work across firmware architecture, low-level programming, hardware integration, system validation, and performance optimization.
The advertised level is mid-level and the employment type is full-time.
Firmware Development
- Design firmware for microcontrollers, processors, and intelligent electronic devices and translate requirements into technical designs.
- Develop low-level firmware, hardware abstraction layers, peripheral drivers, and embedded applications using C, C++, and suitable languages.
- Implement communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and applicable wireless protocols.
- Develop real-time applications using RTOS environments and configure timers, interrupts, DMA, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and other peripherals.
Integration, Debugging, and Optimization
- Integrate firmware with hardware and work with hardware engineers to troubleshoot integration issues.
- Debug and isolate faults using JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debugging tools.
- Analyze and optimize memory use, processing requirements, power consumption, response times, reliability, and resource utilization.
- Investigate field issues, firmware defects, system failures, and intermittent hardware-software problems and implement corrective actions.
Testing and Product Support
- Develop and execute unit, integration, functional, system-level, automated, and validation tests for embedded software.
- Create automated test scripts and validation procedures and support prototypes, engineering builds, verification, and production testing.
- Support firmware deployment, product updates, bootloader processes, and over-the-air updates where applicable.
- Manage firmware versions, source code, configurations, and release branches, participate in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with QA, manufacturing, product management, hardware, software, and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Professional experience in embedded systems, firmware engineering, embedded software, or electronic product development.
