As an Embedded HW/FW Engineer at Lam, you'll design complex systems, or products for our wafer fabrication equipment. You will define system specifications, requirements, parameters, and compatibility to integrate hardware, and firmware into a cohesive system. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses combined with your multi-layered technical expertise you help shape the next generation of Lam initiatives.
Design and architect software solutions for embedded systems, considering hardware limitations and performance requirements.
Develop and implement software modules using C/C++ programming languages.Integrate with hardware components by writing device drivers and interfacing with peripherals such as sensors and actuators.
Utilize real-time operating systems (RTOS) to manage system timing and task scheduling.
Conduct comprehensive testing on prototypes, including electrical, functional, and environmental stress testing.
Utilize debugging tools to identify and resolve software defects and hardware-related issues.
Analyze system timing to ensure timing specific constraints are met.

Work closely with hardware engineers to understand system requirements and ensure seamless software-hardware integration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product specifications and project timelines.

Knowledge of communication protocols like SPI. I2C, UART.
Proficiency in C programming language.
Familiarity with RTOS concepts and development.
Experience working with various instrumentation equipment, such as oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, logic analyzer, etc.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
