As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern at Lunar Outpost, you will be integral to developing, testing, and refining the embedded software on Lunar Outpost hardware.
All interns will work directly alongside full-time engineers on real, engaging, and impactful projects, providing tangible value to Lunar Outpost products.
This internship offers a truly end-to-end experience that promotes collaboration at every stage of autonomous robotic development.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in embedded development
- Proficient in embedded C
- Experience using version control tools such as Git
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Can effectively demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, while also excelling in collaboration and teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills under pressure and in stressful situations
- Fueled by a passion for space exploration and the boundless possibilities beyond our world
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with real-time operating system (RTOS)
- Experience working in a startup and/or aerospace environment
- Experience with C++ and Python
- Ability to test and analyze the performance of robotic platforms utilizing simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
- Knowledge of robotic systems, including perception, integration of various sensors, motors, and control systems
- Experience with board bringup and peripherals such as GPIOs, SPI, ADC, UARTS, and I2C
- Experience with NASA core flight software
- Experience with Bitbucket
- Experience working with FPGAs
Early-June (June 7, 2027) to late August (August 20, 2027).
Start and end dates are flexible with the intern's school schedule.
This is an in-person internship; Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Golden, Colorado.
