Zone 5 Technologies develops autonomous unmanned aircraft systems and is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer.

The role focuses on writing software for embedded microcontrollers and supporting next-generation UAS flight systems.

Design, code, implement, and flight-test embedded software for unmanned aircraft systems.
Integrate sensors and processors including autopilots, payloads, radios, and other functional components.
Lead development and planning for new projects and programs.
Debug software issues and use schematics, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters for troubleshooting.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines on design and peer reviews.
Maintain software quality through configuration control and good engineering practices.
Mentor less-senior teammates and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.
At least 12 years of embedded software experience in real-time avionics, automotive, or other safety-critical systems.
Strong real-time operating systems experience, preferably with VxWorks or FreeRTOS.
