Qualifications

• Essential:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in education, youth formation, social work, counseling or similar role.
• ​​3-5 years relevant experience​ in working with youth or young people in education, or related
• Willingness to train in trauma-informed care
• Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Restorative Justice Practices and Peacebuilding from an Anabaptist perspective
• Strong capacity and relationship building skills with children, adolescents, and young adults.
• Working knowledge, or familiarity, with school structures
• Strong mentoring and training skills
• Strong proficiency in public speaking
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of stakeholders within the k-12 education system
• Written and verbal fluency in English
• Employment eligibility: Legally eligible to work in the U.S. MCC offers of employment are subject to a successful criminal background check(s).
• Preferred:
• Masters or Graduate degree in education, social work, counseling, or similar role.
• Demonstrates written and verbal fluency in Spanish
• Knowledge or appreciation of cultures and diverse backgrounds, and an understanding of the school to prison pipeline, and related subjects
