Role Overview
The Elevator Operations Manager is based at the company’s Dubai office and has management oversight of the complete elevator operation in Yemen.
The role directly manages and supervises the Elevator Department Head in Yemen while driving performance, accountability, follow-up, and continuous improvement.
The Department Head manages day-to-day activities in Yemen, while this role provides overall operational and management oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise, and evaluate the Elevator Department Head in Yemen.
- Set objectives, KPIs, responsibilities, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor maintenance, service, installation, modernization, and project performance.
- Review breakdowns, preventive maintenance, customer complaints, contract renewals, and major technical issues.
- Monitor project progress, delays, manpower, materials, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Identify weaknesses and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review revenue, costs, margins, profitability, collections, and major expenses.
- Monitor manpower utilization, productivity, and team performance.
- Review major customer issues and ensure proper resolution.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, quality requirements, and elevator safety standards.
- Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to senior management.
- Recommend organizational, staffing, process, and operational improvements.
Travel and Performance Measures
- Visit Yemen periodically to review operations, inspect projects and maintenance activities, meet the local team and key customers, and verify agreed actions.
- Performance measures include maintenance quality, breakdown reduction, customer satisfaction, contract retention, project completion, revenue, profitability, cost control, collections, productivity, safety, quality, and corrective-action completion.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Strong elevator or lift industry experience in a senior management or operations position.
- Strong knowledge of elevator maintenance, installation, modernization, and technical operations.
- Experience managing department heads, engineers, supervisors, and technical teams.
- Strong operational, commercial, and financial understanding.
- Ability to identify management problems, improve performance, and establish accountability.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage an overseas operation from Dubai.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically to Yemen.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
Work Location
- The role is based in person at the company’s Dubai office, with periodic travel to Yemen as required.
