The Electrical Engineer oversees electrical systems for 132kV to 400kV transmission GIS substation projects from construction through commissioning.
The role covers engineering coordination, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, quality assurance, technical support, and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Review substation engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate procurement with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks for electrical installations.
- Resolve technical issues during construction and operation phases.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for client approval.
- Stay informed about electrical engineering and substation industry trends and best practices.
Required experience
- Experience with transmission GIS substation projects from construction to commissioning at 132kV to 400kV levels.
- Experience with GIS switchgear, substation equipment installation, control and protection, telecommunications, pre-commissioning testing, LDC integration, and plant commissioning.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents related to substations.
Project environment
- The role includes construction and commissioning activities, equipment installation supervision, and electrical site inspections.
