Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) – Electrical (OHL)
will support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing all electrical engineering activities related to high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
The role ensures compliance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and approved engineering designs throughout project execution and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer as required in accordance with project needs
- Supervise construction activities for 400kV / 220kV / 132kV overhead transmission lines
- Conduct regular site inspections for transmission line works including:
- Tower foundation
- Tower erection
- Conductor stringing
- Earthing systems
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules
- Review shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals related to OHL works
- Identify and report non-conformances and ensure timely corrective actions
- Attend site coordination meetings to discuss technical and construction-related issues
- Ensure adherence to approved drawings, layouts, and engineering standards
- Coordinate with all technical disciplines for smooth execution of works
- Witness site activities, testing, and commissioning of transmission line systems
- Assist during final inspections, project certification, and handover
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, especially during high-risk activities such as tower erection and conductor stringing
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and utility authorities as required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of
- EHV/HV transmission line construction (400kV / 220kV / 132kV)
- Experience in
- tower erection, stringing, and transmission line installation
- Strong understanding of
- international standards and utility requirements
- Knowledge of
- HSE practices in transmission line construction
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to manage contractors and supervise site activities effectively
