Electrical Engineer IV

Job Responsibilities

• As an Electrical Engineer IV, you will be responsible for providing trade-specific system design: layout, calculations (utilizing appropriate software), and coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external)
• Additional responsibilities include:
• Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
• As appropriate, manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Assists with employee reviews as requested.
• Estimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
• Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects

Job Requirements

• Someone with a history of working with Critical Facilities projects would be a good fit for this dynamic role.
• Additional requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical discipline is required.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field
• EIT certification is required
• PE is preferred or alternate certification (Plbg – CPD, BMS – CEM, FLS – NICET & NFPA).
• Demonstrates ability to make proper system selections with/without supervision of senior designer/senior engineer.
• Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades.
• Exhibits thorough understanding of applying LEED principles to building design.
• Possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software.
• Possesses good dispute resolution skills.
• Possesses sufficient knowledge to prepare red marks for CAD personnel to pick-up knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction.
