- Work under the guidance of experienced electrical, hardware, firmware, and RF engineers.
- Support the development, analysis, and review of electrical and electronic designs for aerospace and avionics applications.
- Assist with circuit card design activities, including requirements development, schematic capture, simulation, design review, and hardware integration.
- Support analog, digital, power, RF, microwave, and multifunction circuit designs based on project needs.
- Contribute to programmable logic and FPGA development activities, which may include firmware requirements, RTL coding using VHDL or Verilog, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and implementation.
- Assist with the development of simulation testbenches, verification procedures, board-level test procedures, and test scripts.
- Execute engineering tests using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and power supplies.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize measurement data, test results, anomalies, and supporting technical evidence.
- Support hardware and FPGA bring-up, integration, troubleshooting, debugging, regression testing, and failure-reproduction activities.
- Participate in hardware, firmware, and software integration testing under engineering guidance.
- Support testing and analysis of RF performance characteristics that may include gain, noise figure, sensitivity, impedance matching, VSWR, spurious emissions, and harmonic emissions.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, peer reviews, technical discussions, defect investigations, and project status updates.
- Develop, modify, and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements, specifications, procedures, test results, and design records.
- Identify opportunities to improve simulation, verification, test efficiency, repeatability, automation, and documentation quality.
- Apply sound engineering judgment, attention to detail, and disciplined configuration control while working in a regulated aerospace environment.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Foundational knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Analog or digital circuit design
- Electronic hardware development
- Digital logic or programmable logic
- RF, microwave, electromagnetics, or communication systems
- Embedded systems or computer architecture
- Basic understanding of the engineering development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, verification, and documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and work safely with laboratory equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document technical work and test results accurately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while completing assigned work with appropriate independence.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.

- Student entering junior or senior year, graduate student, or recent graduate preparing for an entry-level electrical engineering role.
- Coursework, academic projects, student organization experience, prior internship experience, or personal projects involving electrical hardware, firmware, FPGA, or RF engineering.
- Experience developing or reviewing electrical schematics and working with circuit cards or electronic assemblies.
- Coursework or project experience using VHDL or Verilog, including state machines, synchronous design, and timing fundamentals.
- Exposure to FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado or ISE, Intel Quartus, or similar tools.
- Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim, QuestaSim, ADS, AWR, HFSS, or equivalent engineering applications.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Tcl for test, build, or engineering automation.
- Familiarity with common digital interfaces and protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, AXI, Ethernet, or DDR.
- Exposure to embedded processors, microcontrollers, or system-on-chip FPGA technologies.
- Experience using electronic or RF laboratory test equipment.
- Familiarity with RF concepts such as transmission lines, S-parameters, impedance matching, gain, noise figure, modulation, RF link budgets, or spectrum requirements.
- Familiarity with avionics products or technologies such as TCAS, transponders, TAWS, ADS-B Out, or ADS-B In.
- Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a collaborative engineering environment.
