Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics for building and infrastructure projects
- Develop and update shop drawings and as built drawings
- Coordinate with engineers and project teams to incorporate design changes and site feedback
- Work with CAD/BIM tools to produce accurate drawings
- Organize drawing documentation and assist in technical submittals
- Support project coordination meetings to resolve design and installation issues
- Collaborate closely with Civil and MEP teams to maintain accurate design documentation
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in electrical drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools)
- Solid understanding of electrical systems in building projects, including power distribution, lighting, low current systems, and relevant standards
- Experience preparing shop drawings, as built drawings, and coordination drawings for Civil and MEP works
- Ability to read and interpret engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction documents
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Organizational skills for managing drawing records and version control
- Previous experience as an Electrical Draftsman or similar drafting role in construction or contracting, preferably in Qatar or GCC
- Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality practices in engineering and construction environments

Role Description
- This is a full time, on site Electrical Draftsman role based in Qatar.
- The Electrical Draftsman will prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local codes, and standards.
- Daily tasks include developing and updating shop drawings and as built drawings, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and incorporating design changes and site feedback into drawings.
- The role involves working with CAD/BIM tools, organizing drawing documentation, assisting in technical submittals, and supporting project coordination meetings to resolve design and installation issues.
- The Electrical Draftsman will collaborate closely with Civil and MEP teams to maintain accurate, timely, and well structured design documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in electrical drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools) and ability to produce clear, accurate electrical layouts and schematics.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems in building projects, including power distribution, lighting, low current systems, and relevant standards and local regulations.
- Experience preparing shop drawings, as built drawings, and coordination drawings for Civil and MEP works, with attention to detail and drawing quality.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction documents, and translate them into practical drafting outputs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, site teams, and project managers, including participation in coordination meetings.
- Organizational skills for managing drawing records, version control, and documentation in line with project and company procedures.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Draftsman or in a similar drafting role in construction or contracting, preferably in Qatar or the GCC region.
- Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline; higher education in engineering is an advantage.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality practices in engineering and construction environments, with a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
