The company works across transport infrastructure projects from design through testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Role Context

The Electrical Design Engineer will join a specialized technical group responsible for design reviews of LV electrical management systems on a metro project.

The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and reports to the Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

Main Duties

  • Review LV switchboards, MCC switchboards, and automatic transfer switchboard layouts.
  • Review LV cable, lighting, small power, fire alarm, BMS, earthing, and lightning protection designs.
  • Review cable sizing, raceway, correction-factor, short-circuit, and voltage-drop calculations.
  • Review lighting illumination analysis using DIALux, AGI32, or other lighting software.
  • Review riser, single-line, circuiting, and interconnection diagrams for low-voltage systems.
  • Review cable load schedules, termination drawings, and shop drawing details.
  • Calculate electrical loads using NEC standards and local authority regulations.
  • Review layouts, plans, and specifications against national building codes, NEC 2008, and Royal Commission standards.
  • Review contractor drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, E&I specifications, and manufacturer lists.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and draftsmen.
  • Witness factory acceptance tests and participate in startup testing of electrical and interface systems.

Profile and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of relevant electrical design, design review, installation, testing, and commissioning experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC and local authority standards.
  • Experience with large civil, structural, or industrial projects.
  • Detailed understanding of electrical materials and equipment selection.
