About the Role
The EHS Manager leads environment, health, and safety strategy, governance, compliance, risk management, sustainability, and continuous improvement for a manufacturing site.
The role works with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to build safety capability, accountability, and proactive employee participation.
EHS and Compliance Responsibilities
- Lead compliance with Karnataka factory, environmental, labour, fire, electrical, occupational health, hazardous-waste, and pollution-control requirements.
- Manage regulatory authorities, statutory inspections, audits, licenses, permits, consents, returns, environmental statements, and compliance reports.
- Drive hazard identification, risk assessments, HAZOP and process safety reviews, and critical programs including PTW, LOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, machine safety, and chemical safety.
- Lead incident, near-miss, dangerous-occurrence, and SIF investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and management reporting.
- Oversee environmental programs, ETP and STP operations, hazardous waste, pollution prevention, energy and water conservation, waste reduction, ESG, and BRSR reporting.
- Manage emergency preparedness, fire systems, drills, evacuation, crisis response, safety equipment inspections, testing, certification, and maintenance.
- Develop training, inductions, competency programs, contractor safety processes, audits, permit monitoring, and performance reviews.
- Maintain EHS records, legal registers, SOPs, compliance trackers, audit documentation, and statutory records, and mentor EHS team members.
