Position Overview

The Editorial Manager leads editorial strategy, planning, and content development for Saronic’s Public Relations and Communications function.

The role identifies stories and proof points and translates technology, people, mission, and impact into external narratives.

The position combines journalistic curiosity with program leadership and ownership of the communications editorial calendar.

Editorial Strategy and Planning

  • Own the communications editorial calendar across company milestones, announcements, events, campaigns, and storytelling opportunities.
  • Develop a consistent editorial rhythm and proactively fill gaps with timely content and campaigns.
  • Translate company priorities into editorial themes, storylines, and content opportunities.

Story Development and Reporting

  • Build relationships across the company to uncover technical milestones, customer impact, employee expertise, and other proof points.
  • Conduct interviews and research across technical, operational, business, and leadership teams.
  • Turn complex technical and business topics into clear, credible, and engaging external narratives.

Content Development and Execution

  • Write, edit, and develop thought leadership, executive communications, company stories, articles, talking points, briefing materials, and digital content.
  • Partner with Public Relations, Social, Marketing, Recruiting, and other teams on coordinated communications.
  • Maintain high standards for clarity, accuracy, voice, consistency, quality, and strategic alignment.

Communications Operations

  • Coordinate priorities, milestones, content needs, and opportunities across the Public Relations and Communications function.
  • Establish processes and operating rhythms that improve visibility, accountability, and execution.
  • Anticipate company developments, prioritize competing opportunities, and move editorial initiatives through publication.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in public relations, journalism, corporate communications, content strategy, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to explain complex subject matter clearly.
  • Strong editorial judgment, relationship-building ability, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work strategically and tactically with ownership and autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to investigate technical, operational, and business topics deeply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology, defense, aerospace, maritime, robotics, or industrial and manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Journalism, newsroom operations, editorial leadership, or reporting-intensive experience is preferred.
  • Executive thought leadership, senior-leader partnership, technical translation, and integrated communications experience are preferred.
