Role Overview

  • As an Ecommerce Business Analyst, you will collaborate with the Delivery team to implement Shopify Plus stores, apps, and integrations.
  • You will facilitate discovery meetings, gather requirements, produce discovery outputs, and act as a bridge between merchant strategy and technical execution.
  • You will also play a key role in QA by developing test suites, validating features, and leading UAT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts, including themes, settings, metafields, and structured data.
  • Facilitate discovery meetings to elicit, validate, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Write detailed user stories, functional requirements, and process diagrams.
  • Write test suites and validate completed features against documented requirements.
  • Lead functional, exploratory, and usability testing across storefronts, integrations, and customer journeys.
  • Coordinate and support UAT with merchants; document and track issues in Linear or Jira.
  • Collaborate with developers and partners to integrate Shopify with ERP, CRM, PIM, OMS, payment gateways, tax, shipping, and other platforms.
  • Maintain and prioritize eCommerce backlogs.
  • Produce clear documentation including user stories, process flows, system diagrams, and release notes.
  • Act as a key liaison between merchants, developers, designers, and project managers.
  • Create and deliver training materials for Shopify workflows, admin tools, and new features.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem (Shopify Plus, apps, app proxies, metafields, Flow, checkout extensibility) or similar eCommerce integration experience.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner with strong background in gathering requirements for eCommerce projects.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and SDLC.
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce concepts, best practices, cart & checkout flows, and UX principles.
  • Familiarity with systems integration concepts: APIs, webhooks, data synchronization, and mapping.
  • Experience writing and conducting detailed test suites, QA and UAT.
  • Experience with issue tracking platforms like Linear or Jira.
  • Strong written communication and technical writing skills.
