Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facility systems through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. This role provides hands-on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation support; troubleshoots and repairs equipment issues; and partners with Operations, Engineering, and contractors to improve plant reliability, safety, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM during training. After training, hours may shift to 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM and on-call weekend coverage may be required based on business needs.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical (24V–480V), and instrumentation issues.
- Maintain pumps, valves, piping, rotating equipment, motors, conveyors, control panels, sensors, and control systems.
- Calibrate instruments, conduct equipment inspections, and utilize diagnostic tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute maintenance work orders and maintain accurate records in CMMS systems (preferably SAP).
- Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, startups, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements that increase reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain spare parts inventories and assist with sourcing critical replacement components.
- Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO, OSHA requirements, and Process Safety Management (PSM) practices.
- Participate in root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, development of maintenance procedures, and cross-functional problem-solving efforts.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, contractors, and vendors to resolve equipment issues and support plant objectives.
- Support colleagues and respond to stakeholder requests in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with policies and procedures.
- Escalate issues, risks, and deviations promptly to supervisor and follow through on corrective actions.
Required
Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Preferred
Associates degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field.
5+ years of manufacturing, chemical, or industrial maintenance experience.
Welding and/or machining experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems (24V–480V), pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency with calibration equipment, diagnostic tools, and CMMS software (SAP preferred).
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing environment requiring standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and use of PPE.
Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and call-ins as needed to support operations.
