Position summary

Serve as the strategic financial business leader for Element City Center Doha and Element West Bay Doha.

Develop and execute financial and accounting plans aligned with property and brand strategies while maximizing return on investment.

Education and experience

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major plus two years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major.

Financial planning and analysis

  • Analyze financial data and market trends.
  • Forecast sales against expenses and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze wage variances.
  • Develop profit-improvement opportunities by estimating costs and benefits and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Support sound financial and business decision making and protect the property's competitive advantage.

Accounting and controls

  • Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, and manage business risks.
  • Submit timely reports and ensure profits and losses are documented accurately.
  • Ensure the P&L is accurate and costs are matched to revenue and recorded in proper accounts.
  • Monitor applicable taxes and oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures and correct audit issues when necessary.

Leadership and stakeholders

  • Lead and develop accounting teams, assign clear accountability, and hold staff responsible for performance.
  • Advise the general manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues.
  • Attend owner meetings and communicate financial results, priorities, and strategic context.
  • Understand and address the needs and return-on-investment expectations of owners, corporate stakeholders, and guests.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively.

People development

  • Ensure team members are cross-trained to support daily operations.
  • Administer property policies fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure new hires complete department orientation and receive appropriate training.
  • Create development plans based on team members' strengths, needs, aspirations, and abilities.
