About the Role

The Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations within the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing routes, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and ensuring compliance with transportation laws. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate diverse routes using maps and GPS technology. Ultimately, the Driver will contribute to the overall success of the transportation and logistics operations by providing reliable and secure delivery services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
  • Proven experience in truck driving, specifically with dump trucks and box trucks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing and transportation management principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with transportation management software and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience in a warehousing environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal adherence during transportation.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS to meet delivery schedules.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, coordinating with warehouse personnel to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to provide updates and resolve any delivery issues.

Skills

  • The required skills such as truck driving and holding a CDL Class A license are essential for safely operating commercial vehicles and ensuring compliance with transportation laws.
