Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems on SPCSD.
- Carry out routine inspections, planned maintenance, and breakdown repairs as per PMS and Chief Engineer’s instructions.
- Assist in operation and maintenance of dredge pumps, cutter drive systems, gearboxes, and associated machinery.
- Monitor machinery parameters, alarms, and log readings during dredging and sailing operations.
- Perform overhauling of engines, valves, pumps, filters, and mechanical components as required.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cooling, and fuel systems functioning at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of engine room and machinery spaces.
- Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies.
- Assist during bunkering, engine trials, and emergency situations.
- Report defects, abnormalities, and spare requirements to the Engineer Officer promptly
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical.
- 5-10 years' experience on Dredger.
- STCW training certification.
- STCW COP III/4 or higher is a must
- ILO/MLC Seafarer's medical fitness certificate.
