Role overview

Hatch is seeking a Documentation Automation Student for an internship supporting the Technologies Procurement discipline.

The role supports global offices from Hatch's Mississauga office and focuses on procurement data, automation, process improvement, and material catalogue management.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement activities through data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Build and manage datasets for pricing, vendors, materials, and projects.
  • Assist with bid evaluations, commercial comparisons, purchase order tracking, and procurement status reporting.
  • Develop and standardize a material catalogue containing descriptions, classifications, and supplier information.
  • Prepare dashboards and summaries and identify improvements to procurement workflow efficiency and data quality.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Project Controls teams.

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in an engineering, supply chain, business analytics, information systems, or technology diploma or degree program.
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong data building, cleaning, and management skills.
  • Have advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, formulas, and structured data.
  • Have experience or strong interest in automation tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, Python, SQL, or similar.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, communication, organization, problem solving, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
  • Procurement, supply chain, ERP, e-procurement, cataloguing, and material master data exposure is preferred.

Compensation

  • The stated compensation range is $24.00 to $33.00.
  • Individual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.

  • The internship is based in Hatch's Mississauga office in an office environment.
