Overview
The Document Controller is responsible for managing, tracking, distributing, and maintaining all project documentation for construction projects.
This includes drawings, contracts, technical documents, RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and reports while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and outgoing project documents and correspondence.
- Maintain document control systems and filing structures (digital and physical).
- Ensure all drawings, revisions, and technical documents are properly logged and updated.
- Distribute approved documents to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
- Track document revisions and maintain version control.
- Prepare and maintain document registers, transmittals, and logs.
- Coordinate with engineers, QA/QC teams, procurement, and site staff for documentation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project document procedures and ISO standards.
- Archive completed project documents and maintain confidentiality.
- Support audits and project close-out documentation.
Requirementseducation
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Document Controller in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of document control procedures.
- Experience with EDMS systems such as Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, or EDMS software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
