Dist Service Tech - Trainee

This is a union position within PPL.

The successful candidate will become a member of IBEW Local 1600.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $40.160 with the potential for overtime.

This position will be based out of PPLs Bloomsburg Service Center.

Conducts field surveys and performs assignments associated with the design and engineering of overhead and underground facilities of various voltage levels.

Assists in coordinating maintenance, operation and construction of all such facilities.

include but are not limited to:

• Specifies design for single phase and three phase overhead and underground facilities according to specifications and defined compatible units.
• Prepares corrective maintenance, failed equipment and pole replacement work orders for overhead and underground facilities.
• Works with other utility companies, municipalities, corporations and authorities regarding joint use of distribution facilities.
• Prepares work orders, sketches, right-of-way requests, permit requests and estimates. Generates work orders in appropriate company systems and computer tools.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to meet with customers to satisfy project needs and service complaints.
• Determines customer obligations from Standard Practice Instructions for contracts, costs, billing and accounting purposes.
• Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
