Engage the University community as the visionary leader of the Honors Program.
Launch and nurture new initiatives to increase the Honors Program’s contribution to our students’ success, and increase the Honors Program’s reputation and stature both within the university and nationally.
Strengthen relationships with college deans, informing them about the Honors Program and soliciting their support for the program.
Work closely with the Honors Advisory Council of alumni and friends, and the University Development Office to help lead new Honors development initiatives.
Build relationships with individual faculty members who contribute to the Honors Program.
Work with department chairs and college deans to develop Honors course offerings and Honors degree curricula components.
Work with Enrollment Management to recruit each class, maintain the quality of Honors Program admits, and increase the diversity of the Honors Program.
Advocate for and oversee the Honors Program budget
Supervise the Honors Program staff (currently 6 professional staff, one faculty deputy director, and two administrative staff).
Work closely with faculty including the Honors faculty governance committees and helping coordinate the ongoing assessment of the Honors program.
Represent the Honors Program at university and public events, including the Honors Medal Ceremony, the General Honors Awards, and others.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree, as well as a distinguished record of achievement and professional credentials consistent with appointment at the rank of full professor.
Outstanding and demonstrated leadership capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are critical. The position requires the incumbent to be able to effectively interact with senior academic leaders, department chairs, faculty and students.
