What Is the Opportunity
Join RBC's HQLA team to manage and optimize approximately $100 billion in liquid assets across multiple jurisdictions.
The role combines portfolio execution, USD and cross-currency investment opportunities, hedging strategies, reporting, and profitability optimization.
The successful candidate will apply market knowledge to algorithms and iteratively build ideal portfolio models.
What You Will Do
- Execute trades to purchase USD HQLA 1 and 2A assets.
- Purchase and hedge currency risk for non-CAD/USD HQLA 1 and 2A assets.
- Execute derivative duration hedging compliant with hedge accounting standards.
- Lead expertise and training on cross-currency investment opportunities.
- Develop portfolio models with analytics, reporting, Product Control, and Performance Management teams.
- Coordinate with Risk teams on exposure, counterparty credit, and key-rate duration limits.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Professional designation such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent, plus a university degree in Finance or Accounting.
- At least 7 years of front-office experience in cross-currency relative value, interest rate hedging, and secured funding.
- Institutional-level HQLA asset experience focused on relative value.
- Ability to make buy or sell recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Expertise in hedge accounting, bank capital management, and liquidity management.
- Clear and succinct communication across varied stakeholder groups.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting.
- Familiarity with the Volcker Rule, Regulation W, and bank compliance.
- Performance management and management accounting experience.
