The Director, Strategy & Analytics for Barclays Center will spearhead the delivery of analytics and insights to our operators and partners at BKSE Global, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Liberty. In this role, you will be responsible for working with Levy’s Vice President of Hospitality and Director of Operations, and BKSE’s Strategy & Analytics team to produce analytical insights and technology recommendations for hospitality initiatives. Additionally, this position is responsible for establishing and advancing the methods, processes and standards of analytics, financial analysis, and partner service that fuel the innovation that is driving Levy Operations forward.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the principal analytics partner to senior client and Levy leadership, shaping their strategies and business objectives
- Own the analytical view of the venue — physical configuration, technology roadmap, and operational processes — and use it to guide investment and design decisions
- Develop and deploy optimal pricing, product, placement, and promotion strategies for concessions and premium points of distribution based on team objectives and fan feedback
- Drive strategic pricing strategies across concessions, premium, and retail, including dynamic and variable pricing, yield management, and price testing to maximize revenue and per-cap performance
- Identify opportunities to change existing product offering or distribution
- Develop reporting (heat maps, dashboards, slide decks, status updates) standards and formats for partner and operator end use
- Translate guest insights into recommendations and drive adoption of the resulting action items with operators and partners
- Analyze and build optimal solutions around variable labor and cost of sales management
- Leverage available artificial intelligence, consumer insights, and emerging technology tools to drive guest experience and profitability
- Spearhead AI-related initiatives for the venue, identifying, piloting, and scaling artificial intelligence applications that improve forecasting, pricing, guest experience, and operational efficiency
- Prioritize, resource, and where needed personally deliver ad-hoc analytics projects
- Own strategy development for new technology initiatives in partnership with the team’s strategy department
- Lead business review process to share performance updates and opportunities
- Ideal Qualifications:
- Self-starter who sets the analytics agenda and translates it into business impact
- Track record of influencing senior executive and ownership-level decision makers
- 5+ years of experience in quantitative, analytical consulting, and/or client-facing businesses as well as experience interacting with internal organizational leadership
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Doctorate degree in business analytics, statistics, economics, or a related field
- Experience in Excel with experience in financial modeling a plus
- Experience using SQL, R, Python, PowerBI, and/or Tableau for data analysis and survey analytics
- Experience in using data visualization tools, visual features of statistical software tools or Powerpoint to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- Experience in data-driven pricing and/or yield management
- Can share examples of using data to solve complex problems
- Food service operations awareness
- Experience communicating complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- Expectations:
- The E15er will be expected for most of the work week at Barclays Center. Event attendance is expected regularly.
