Role Overview
Capital One is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead product-focused software engineering teams.
The role spans customer-facing web and mobile applications, RESTful microservices, Java systems, machine learning models, and cloud infrastructure.
The position combines engineering leadership, people management, architecture, delivery, and technical mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of software engineers.
- Mentor engineers and guide their professional and technical development.
- Partner with product managers on application capabilities and testing scenarios.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack solutions.
- Lead software availability, resilience, scalability, and craftsmanship.
- Deploy applications into AWS environments.
- Modernize monolithic applications into microservice architectures and build new microservices.
- Promote innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and improved engineering velocity.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 7 years of software development experience.
