Director, Radar Payload

Technical and Program Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to radar and RF engineering teams.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning RF, digital, mechanical, thermal, structural, and software engineering.
• Support GSE, calibration targets, production automation, product documentation, and spacecraft-level design decisions.
• Lead proposals, requirements assessments, customer and government-agency interfaces, and engineering reviews.
• Provide expert support for radar anomalies and ensure customer needs are satisfied.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience delivering radar systems from requirements through mission operations.
• Deep knowledge of SAR imaging modes and processing algorithms for space platforms.
• Experience with space-based radar systems in LEO, MEO, or GEO configurations.
• Expert understanding of orbital mechanics, spacecraft systems, radar systems, waveform design, pulse compression, Doppler processing, and clutter mitigation.
• Proven leadership of complex spaceborne radar payload programs and demonstrated team management experience.
• Experience with radar payload testing and understanding of launch environment and space qualification processes.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing TS/SCI clearance.
• Advanced SAR techniques such as GMTI, InSAR, polarimetry, or bistatic SAR.
• Radar image processing, autofocus algorithms, exploitation tools, digital beamforming, or phased-array radar experience.
• Space-grade hardware design, mission assurance, parts selection, COTS component assessment, or qualification testing.
• Radar licensing, frequency coordination, ITU regulations, spectrum management, ground segment, constellation, launch integration, or orbital insertion experience.
• FMECA, reliability, worst-case, radiation-effects, project management, or earned-value management experience.
• Publications or patents in space-based radar technology and experience presenting to executive leaders or customers.

Work Environment

• The position may involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer work.
• The position may involve occasional moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Compensation

• Base salary is listed at $198,000–$297,000 USD annually.
• Total compensation, including base salary and equity, is listed at $268,600–$422,000 USD annually.
• Benefits include equity, employee stock purchase participation, medical, dental, vision, paid leave, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k) match.
