Position Overview: The Director-Operations is expected to provide overall leadership and responsibility for the manufacturing operations, including all safety, quality, and cost results and issues. In addition, the position will continually review all operational procedures, with a view to improving operating performance and financial results, and will have overall responsibility for the P&L of the plant. This position has a number of direct reports, and will provide overall leadership and development opportunities for team members, building a high-performing team. The qualified individual should have significant previous experience of working in a manufacturing production or operations environment, and should have the financial and analytical skills to manage the profitability of the plant, along with the technical ability to identify growth opportunities and potential cost and waste-saving initiatives. In addition, the successful candidate should be a strong people manager, with the capacity to build, manage, and motivate a high-performing team that will maximize the plant’s profitability.
