Role Overview
The Director of Operations will lead and oversee effective, controlled, and efficient investment and asset management operations in Saudi Arabia.
The role provides strategic and operational leadership across investment operations, core banking, settlements, liquidity, reconciliations, reporting, and client servicing.
The role works with Saudi business units, the Qatar Head Office, and external counterparties.
Operational Management
- Own end-to-end daily operations in Saudi Arabia and ensure accurate, efficient delivery within the control framework.
- Oversee account administration, fund activity, portfolio management operations, equities, bonds and sukuk, structured products, corporate actions, treasury, payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ensure transactions meet accuracy, turnaround-time, service-level, and market-deadline requirements.
- Oversee trade capture, validation, settlement, accounting, reconciliation, and client notification.
- Allocate work across the Operations team and monitor timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulatory and market requirements and company policies.
Core Banking and Platforms
- Own the Operations function for the core banking system and other operational platforms used in Saudi Arabia.
- Ensure products, accounts, transactions, fees, cash movements, and securities positions are accurately maintained.
- Coordinate product, workflow, approval, accounting, testing, readiness, and implementation activities for system changes.
- Monitor interfaces, reconciliations, exceptions, processing errors, data quality, access requirements, and contingency arrangements.
- Improve straight-through processing, workflow automation, system utilization, and operational scalability.
Settlements and Liquidity
- Oversee timely and accurate settlement of securities and investment transactions.
- Maintain daily funding and liquidity arrangements to meet settlement obligations.
- Monitor correspondent-bank cash balances and ensure adequate funding for daily operations.
Requirements
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across investment and asset management operations in Saudi Arabia.
- Ensure operational activities comply with applicable Saudi regulatory and market requirements.
- Maintain robust operational controls, regulatory compliance, resilience, and continuous process improvement.
- Coordinate operational requirements and implementations with Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and the Qatar Head Office.
