Director of Engineering Consumer Experience - Web & Mobile

Consumer experience leadership

• Partner with UX, Design, Product, and Marketing teams on digital experiences.
• Own frontend architecture for responsive, performant, accessible web and mobile applications.
• Drive skeleton screens, optimistic UI, progressive enhancement, and micro-interactions.
• Lead page-load, rendering, image delivery, CDN, and headless CMS performance improvements.

Team and vendor leadership

• Lead, mentor, and grow a lean team of senior engineers.
• Manage delivery partners for quality, timelines, and engineering standards.
• Partner with engineering and product leaders to drive adoption of shared services and platforms.

Key requirements

• 15 or more years of progressive engineering experience are required.
• Five or more years of senior engineering leadership experience are required.
• Strong architecture and implementation experience with ReactJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, and REST APIs is required.
• Mobile architecture experience across React Native, iOS with Swift, or Android with Kotlin is required.
• Experience building and governing platforms used by multiple product teams is required.
• Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.1, and progressive web applications is required.
• Experience in fashion, retail, or sports DTC commerce is required.
• Composable or headless commerce, CI/CD, feature flagging, and A/B testing experience are required.
• Design systems and shared UI platforms experience is highly preferred.
• SFCC or equivalent storefront experience is a plus.
• Adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across the software development lifecycle is required.
