Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services
- Guide cloud architecture decisions and coordinate integration between cloud platforms and internal systems
- Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of cloud based solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, software development, and project teams to align cloud strategies with organizational goals

Requirements
- Strong background in Engineering Management and Project Management, with experience leading complex, cloud related initiatives
- Demonstrated Team Leadership skills, including mentoring, cross functional collaboration, and fostering an inclusive, high performance culture
- Hands on experience in Software Development and system Integration within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, security, and scalability best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Professional) are an advantage
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision making skills
- Experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing domains is beneficial

Role Description
- The Director of Cloud Engineering is a part time, hybrid role based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for some work from home.
- This role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services that support BuildCore’s engineering and business operations.
Day to day tasks
- Guiding cloud architecture decisions, coordinating integration between cloud platforms and internal systems, and ensuring scalability, security, and reliability of cloud based solutions.
- Collaborating with engineering, software development, and project teams to align cloud strategies with organizational goals, set technical standards, and review critical implementations.
- Mentoring team members, managing vendor relationships, monitoring performance and costs, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Engineering Management and Project Management, with experience leading complex, cloud related initiatives.
