About the Role
American Jewish Committee (AJC) seeks a Director for its Abu Dhabi office to lead diplomatic outreach, team management, and fundraising.

Responsibilities
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with senior government officials, business leaders, and civil society
- Communicate regularly with government officials on issues salient to AJC
- Serve as AJC expert on political affairs in the geographic area
- Serve as liaison between AJC and local Jewish communities
- Lead and manage office staff
- Collaborate with VP, Center for a New Middle East, and other senior leadership
- Oversee local office protocols and ensure compliance
- Lead planning and execution of AJC related travel and programming
- Engage in public speaking opportunities
- Publish blogs, essays, opinion pieces, and other media
- Identify potential donors and raise money to support operations
- Develop/maintain online/social media strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
- Fluency in English is required
- Proficiency in Arabic is required
- Prior experience leading and managing a team required
- Extensive network of professional diplomatic and/or business contacts throughout the region
- Prior experience living and/or working in the Arab Middle East is required
- Understanding of U.S. and Israeli strategic interests in the broader region

- The Director provides leadership and vision to AJC Abu Dhabi: The Sidney Lerner Center for Arab Jewish Understanding.
- Ensures AJC's interests are represented in the Gulf regions.
Specific Responsibilities Diplomatic Outreach
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with senior government officials, rising political figures, business and civil society leaders.
- Communicate regularly with government officials on issues salient to AJC.
- Be the AJC expert on political affairs in the geographic area.
- Serve as liaison between AJC and local Jewish communities.
- Ensure AJC's interests are represented in the UAE and Arabian Gulf.
Specific Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage the office staff.
- Collaborate with VP, Center for a New Middle East, and other senior leadership.
- Oversee local office protocols and assure alignment with AJC policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead planning and execution of AJC related travel and programming.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to develop branded materials.
- Engage in public speaking opportunities.
- Publish blogs, essays, opinion pieces, and other media.
- Develop/maintain online/social media strategy.
Specific Responsibilities Leadership Development and Fundraising
- Identify potential donors and help raise money to support operations and programming.
- Recruit existing and prospective donors and lay leaders to engage in Global Forum, AJC missions, and other national events.
- Offer relevant regional analyses and insights to the CNME Board.
Education, Training, And Experience
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in Arabic is required.
- Prior experience leading and managing a team required.
- Extensive network of professional diplomatic and/or business contacts throughout the region.
- Prior experience living and/or working in the Arab Middle East is required.
- Understanding of U.S. and Israeli strategic interests in the broader region.
