Role Overview
The Director, IT Infrastructure reports to the CIO and develops strategies, processes, and procedures for reliable, repeatable, and scalable IT solutions.
The role supports Rocket Lab employees while maintaining high security and compliance standards.
The position is based onsite at either the Long Beach, California or Auckland, New Zealand facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a global team of IT engineers supporting engineering, design, development, and manufacturing operations.
- Lead compute, storage, network, operating system, and DevOps technologies for rocket and satellite development.
- Manage infrastructure priorities with Space Systems and Launch Operations business leaders.
- Manage global infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud-based environments with high availability and uptime.
- Maintain infrastructure equipment security and compliance standards.
- Manage IT software and hardware vendors and negotiate favorable agreements.
- Develop a global 24/7 support strategy.
