About the role

Aladdin Accounting builds and operates technology platforms supporting accurate, scalable, and efficient accounting across global operations.

The role is an Engineering Director responsible for architecture, engineering strategy, and delivery across enterprise-scale platforms supporting global post-trade operations.

The position combines technical leadership with organizational leadership to drive modernization, platform resiliency, and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology strategy, target-state architecture, and engineering direction across application and data platforms.
  • Lead technical decisions for distributed application, integration, and data platforms.
  • Translate business priorities into technology roadmaps and lead modernization initiatives.
  • Establish standards for quality, resilience, security, operational excellence, and governance.
  • Manage stakeholder trade-offs and dependencies to maximize business outcomes.
  • Develop senior engineering talent and foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive AI-enabled engineering and intelligent automation opportunities within appropriate risk and control standards.

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of demonstrated leadership experience in enterprise-scale software engineering environments.
  • Expertise in application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise software design.
  • Technical depth in enterprise application development, data architecture, large-scale processing, data modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Experience operating large-scale platforms using messaging, caching, and distributed processing approaches.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, risk management, reliability, security, and operational excellence capabilities.
  • Exposure to AI, LLM concepts, cloud-native platforms, observability, automation frameworks, or regulated financial services is preferred.
