The Alliance Française de Dubaï seeks a Director to lead the institution, overseeing cultural and pedagogical strategy, budget management, team leadership, and partnerships. The role requires experience in directing cultural or educational institutions abroad.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the institution's cultural and pedagogical strategy
- Organize annual events in collaboration with local partners or on own funds

- Seek partnerships with French and local companies for TCF/TEF and DELF exams
- Prepare the institution's budget in agreement with the Board of Directors, manage staff, and implement monitoring tools
- Establish close relations with cultural professionals, local authorities, and educational partners
- Prepare and submit regular activity reports to the Board, cultural advisor, ambassador, and headquarters
Requirements
- Bac +5 or equivalent degree
- Proven experience directing a public or private institution abroad or in France, in cultural institutions or local authorities
- Expertise in management and leadership
- Expertise in developing action plans and programs
- Expertise in directing a structure or service
- Proficiency in French (C1 or native)
- Proficiency in English (C1 autonomous)

Overview
- Under the joint authority of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Counselor (COCAC) and the Board of Directors of the Alliance Française de Dubaï, you are responsible for executing the institution's project.
- You will lead, organize, manage, and represent the Alliance Française de Dubaï (AFD) and French cultural action in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Main Activities
- Develop, propose, and drive the institution's strategy in cultural and pedagogical areas (common programming, exam dates, etc.)
- Continue diversifying the language course offering
- Organize annual events in collaboration with local partners or on own funds
- Manage social media, develop Culturethèque and the media library collection
- Seek partnerships with French companies (BNP, Soc. Générale, etc.) or local entities for TCF/TEF and DELF exams
- Prepare the institution's budget in agreement with the Board, manage staff, and implement analysis and monitoring tools
- Establish close relations with cultural professionals, local authorities, and educational partners
- Prepare and submit regular activity reports to the Board, cultural advisor, ambassador, and headquarters
Required Education and Experience
- Bac +5 or equivalent degree
- Proven experience directing a public or private institution abroad or in France, in cultural institutions or local authorities
- Knowledge or mastery of a local language is an asset
- Knowledge of the region is also an asset
