Role Overview

The Director of Human Resources reports to the property General Manager and has a functional reporting relationship to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources.

The role is an integral member of the property executive committee and provides senior HR generalist expertise.

The position works independently to develop HR processes aligned with property, brand, and business objectives.

Position Information

  • The role is based at a Marriott property in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
  • The position is full-time, management-level, and not remote.

Education and Experience

  • One qualification path is a two-year accredited degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major plus four years of relevant experience.
  • An alternative qualification path is a four-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major plus two years of relevant experience.

Human Resources Strategy

  • Execute and follow up on engagement survey activities and build talent management capabilities.
  • Translate business priorities into property HR strategies, plans, and actions.
  • Coordinate human capital reviews and lead succession and workforce planning.
  • Assess the leadership pipeline and support follow-up activities.
  • Monitor effective use of myHR by property managers and employees.
  • Serve as a change manager for initiatives with high employee impact.
  • Present HR results, retention statistics, vacancies, employee satisfaction, and training information to the property executive committee.
  • Supervise property and market-based HR resources where appropriate.

Staffing and Recruitment

  • Analyze open positions to balance existing talent development with business needs.
  • Coach and facilitate selection and interviewing processes.
  • Identify staffing optimization opportunities and make staffing decisions for the property talent pipeline.
  • Develop staffing strategies with hiring managers and advise on hiring practices, compensation, and benefits.
  • Monitor staffing sourcing and process outcomes.
  • Ensure managers can assess and evaluate hourly staff.

Employee Compensation

  • Maintain knowledge of internal and external compensation environments.
  • Lead hourly employee total compensation planning.
  • Promote proper use of compensation systems, tools, programs, and policies.
  • Participate in quarterly internal equity analysis and identify issues requiring resolution.
  • Create and implement compensation packages, recognition programs, and incentive programs aligned with property priorities.

Staff Development

  • Ensure property HR staff complete their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure HR staff are trained in employee-related HR information and can respond appropriately to property employees.
