Role Overview
Brunel is seeking a Digital Technical Analyst to support information technology services for Midstream capital projects.
The projects primarily cover the Pre-FEED, FEED, FID, and Detailed Design phases.
The role defines business processes and software requirements and connects business stakeholders with Digital teams.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Contract and Compensation
- The position is a contract role.
- The rate of pay is CAD 100-120 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Understand relevant business areas to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements.
- Use interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards to understand business requirements.
- Shape requirements by recommending solutions and alternatives.
- Evaluate technical options, limitations, costs, and risks and communicate tradeoffs.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into detailed functional requirements.
- Prioritize requirements with business and delivery teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions to resolve competing priorities and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process.
Required Education and Experience
- At least 10 years of business analysis experience is required.
- Experience determining explicit and implicit stakeholder needs and requirements is required.
- The role requires strong problem-resolution, negotiation, influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- The role requires experience creating business case documentation or business requirements summaries.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A background in oil and gas is preferred.
- Business analysis certification such as CBAP is preferred.
- Professional certification in Agile methodologies is preferred.
