Role Overview

Brunel is seeking a Digital Technical Analyst to support information technology services for Midstream capital projects.

The projects primarily cover the Pre-FEED, FEED, FID, and Detailed Design phases.

The role defines business processes and software requirements and connects business stakeholders with Digital teams.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • The position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Contract and Compensation

  • The position is a contract role.
  • The rate of pay is CAD 100-120 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Understand relevant business areas to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements.
  • Use interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards to understand business requirements.
  • Shape requirements by recommending solutions and alternatives.
  • Evaluate technical options, limitations, costs, and risks and communicate tradeoffs.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into detailed functional requirements.
  • Prioritize requirements with business and delivery teams.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to resolve competing priorities and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 10 years of business analysis experience is required.
  • Experience determining explicit and implicit stakeholder needs and requirements is required.
  • The role requires strong problem-resolution, negotiation, influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • The role requires experience creating business case documentation or business requirements summaries.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A background in oil and gas is preferred.
  • Business analysis certification such as CBAP is preferred.
  • Professional certification in Agile methodologies is preferred.
