Overview
A&O Shearman seeks a Digital, Data, IP and Technology Associate with 1-5 PQE to advise on complex commercial contracts, particularly IP, technology, and data-rich deals. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, providing strategic advice, and managing client expectations. S
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating DDIT agreements.
- Providing strategic advice on everything that falls within the parameters of what the DDIT team advise on.
- Managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately.
- Business development - development of personal plan, assistance with and implementation of business development campaign.
- Legal research.
Requirements
- 1-5 PQE qualified lawyer with a solid knowledge and understanding of commercial/DDIT specific contracts and experience of drafting, analysing and negotiating commercial law/DDIT specific contracts.
- Strong technical knowledge/experience across some (but not all) of the following areas: non-contentious IP transactions and advice, M&A support, Digital infra/Telecoms transactions and advice, data protection and privacy advice, R&D, collaboration and franchise agreements, outsourcing.
- Intellectual curiosity and versatility.
- Self-starter with the desire and ability continuously to acquire, develop and share knowledge.
