About the Role
Sulzer Leeds designs and builds engineered pump packages weighing up to 150 tonnes.
The Despatch Freight Coordinator will manage import, export, heavy-lift, out-of-gauge, and break-bulk logistics.
The role supports logistics for a growing engineering operation in Leeds.
Key Duties
- Coordinate global import and export shipments in compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
- Manage out-of-gauge and break-bulk shipments with specialist carriers, port operators, and freight forwarders.
- Prepare and verify CDS entries, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and packing lists.
- Plan and book UK and international transport while optimising routes, loads, and freight costs.
- Monitor shipment progress, maintain records, and keep internal teams updated in real time.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in freight coordination, transport planning, or logistics, ideally within heavy engineering or project cargo.
- Knowledge of out-of-gauge, break-bulk, or oversized cargo handling by road, sea, or multimodal transport.
- Strong understanding of customs procedures, Incoterms, and international trade compliance.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
