The Designer develops safe and cost-effective formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions based on customer requirements and project specifications. This role prepares detailed design drawings and material take-offs for standard projects and, with experience, may support custom designs under the supervision of the Engineering Manager or Lead. Over time, the Designer may attend customer meetings, build direct relationships, and provide technical support to ensure project success.
Develop formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions for a variety of construction projects.
Produce general arrangement, assembly, and steel fabrication drawings in both 2D and 3D.
Collaborate with PERI Technical Sales Consultants to deliver cost-effective and practical solutions.
Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements and design expectations.
Work with internal and external professional engineers to ensure compliance with CSA, OHSA, and applicable building codes.
Perform and document design calculations using PERI’s structural analysis tools.
Prepare accurate material lists and verify lists prepared by others.
Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System and Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
Mentor and assist Engineering Interns, Draftspeople, and junior Designers.
Conduct jobsite visits and provide technical support as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Degree in Civil Engineering, diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0 - 3+ years of experience in structural engineering or construction.
