Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, inquiry based learning experiences that integrate design thinking, innovation, and problem solving in line with the Alberta curriculum
- Plan and teach Design Technology lessons, assess student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Manage and maintain the design lab and equipment safely, including digital tools and educational technologies relevant to design and fabrication
- Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, contribute to curriculum development, and collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects
- Communicate regularly with families and participate in school events, professional development, and co curricular activities
Requirements
- Strong teaching and education skills with demonstrated experience in classroom instruction, student engagement, and assessment in Design Technology or a related subject
- Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development, ideally aligned with Alberta or similar international standards and inquiry based learning approaches
- Ability to effectively integrate educational technology into learning, including design software, digital fabrication tools, and learning management systems
- Bachelor of Education with a Major in Design Technology, OR a relevant Degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a closely related field; with a PGCE/teaching certification
- Experience working in international or multicultural school settings, with strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to student centered, inclusive practices and to ongoing professional growth in pedagogy and design/technology trends
