Design Project Manager- Aviation

The Aviation Design Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, design, and delivery of airport infrastructure, facility, and capital improvement projects.

This role manages multidisciplinary design teams and oversees project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and client coordination throughout all phases of project development.

The Aviation Design Project Manager serves as a trusted advisor to airport clients, ensuring designs are innovative, compliant, and aligned with operational requirements while successfully integrating civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and airside/landside elements.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to lead complex aviation projects from concept through construction support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include any or all the following:

• Manage aviation planning, design, and engineering projects from concept development through construction support and project closeout.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and specialty consultants.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, work plans, and resource allocations to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with airport authorities, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, consultants, and internal teams to achieve project objectives.
• Oversee the preparation and review of engineering reports, design documents, construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure project designs comply with FAA regulations, airport standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Lead client meetings, design reviews, stakeholder workshops, and project presentations.
• Manage project communications and provide regular updates regarding scope, schedule, budget, and design progress.
• Coordinate and oversee design activities involving airport facilities, infrastructure, airside and landside improvements, and MEP systems.
• Support procurement efforts, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), and business development activities.
