Role Summary
The Design Manager will lead and supervise the Design Team and manage the design process from development through site execution.
The role requires regular site attendance to ensure the approved design is properly implemented.
The position involves coordination with contractors, consultants, and relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and supervise the Design Team and works execution on site.
- Manage design deliverables, coordination, and approvals across multiple projects.
- Review design drawings, specifications, materials, and technical submissions.
- Oversee FF&E projects through design development, material selection, procurement coordination, installation, and handover.
- Monitor site execution of the approved design and contractor compliance with approved documents and quality standards.
- Follow up on design-related contractor matters and resolve site issues with relevant disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and RFIs.
- Coordinate architectural, interior design, MEP, and specialist requirements.
- Monitor design progress, risks, delays, and corrective actions.
- Attend coordination and progress meetings and provide status updates.
- Support site inspections, snagging, close-out, and final handover.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- 15–20 years of relevant experience, including solid Design Manager and site supervision experience.
- Strong experience in design management, interior fit-out, and FF&E projects.
- Proven experience supervising design teams and following design execution on site.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills are preferred.
- Proficiency in relevant design and project-management software is preferred.
