Role Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for client feasibility studies, machine and automation design, CAD release, component selection, cross-functional coordination, certification support, and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Visit clients for technical and feasibility studies and provide design input for proposals.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design of special-purpose machines, automation equipment, and robotic equipment.
- Release 3D assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
- Perform structural sizing and select motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, geartrains, mechanisms, suspensions, grippers, robotic arms, slides, conveyors, fasteners, bearings, and seals.
- Coordinate with vendors and the instrumentation and controls team.
- Coordinate with project and production teams for smooth project execution.
- Coordinate with certification agencies for required certifications.
- Prepare design documents and manuals for milestone submissions and final sign-offs.
