The Design Engineer will develop plant engineering designs and deliverables for water treatment systems.
The role covers civil and structural elements, equipment, piping, supports, as-built drawings, and equipment layouts.
Technical Skills
- The role requires AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Plant 3D, 2D/3D design, and BIM modeling expertise.
- The engineer will work with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 standards and specified carbon, stainless, and alloy steel piping materials.
Essential Responsibilities
- Draft equipment and foundation layouts using AutoCAD.
- Prepare plant 3D models from basic engineering documents using Revit, Plant 3D, and similar tools.
- Prepare coordinated BIM models and construction or fabrication drawings up to LOD 400.
- Perform peer reviews and follow quality procedures for skid deliverables.
- Review PFDs and P&IDs, equipment layouts, skid pipe routing, and 2D drawing deliverables.
- Prepare bills of quantity, support spacing details, clash reports, and compliance reports.
- Participate in 3D model reviews and ensure BIM standards and project requirements are followed.
- Lead engineers as Lead Skid Engineer and assist with manufacturing problem solving.
- Manage customer specifications, schedules, budgets, and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
- An engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or experience in mechanical engineering is required.
- The role requires 7–10 years of mechanical design experience in water, power, oil and gas, or a related industry.
- Strong attention to detail, technical documentation ability, and cross-functional collaboration are required.
