Role Description
Full-time Design and Estimation Engineer role based in Doha, Qatar.
The role has a hybrid work arrangement with some work-from-home flexibility.
The role prepares design concepts, technical drawings, and specifications for civil and industrial projects.
The role develops Bills of Quantities, performs project estimations, and supports cost proposals and tender submissions.
Core Duties
- Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client expectations.
- Research materials, methods, and market pricing to support accurate, competitive, and sustainable designs.
Qualifications
- Strong project estimation and Bill of Quantities preparation skills, including cost analysis and quantity take-offs.
- Solid civil engineering knowledge with experience in design, construction methodologies, and relevant codes and standards.
- Effective negotiation skills for coordinating on pricing, terms, and technical clarifications.
- Research skills for technical data, market information, and cost benchmarking.
- Relevant bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and industry-standard estimation tools.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
- Knowledge of Qatar or GCC regional practices is an advantage.
- Previous infrastructure, industrial, or oil and gas project experience is beneficial.
