Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Deputy Project Director for its project management team in Doha, Qatar.

The role supports complex airport development and operational projects from conception through completion.

The position is responsible for delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards while maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Director with planning, organizing, and executing airport projects.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks, stakeholders, compliance, reporting, and project performance.
  • Coordinate government agencies, contractors, consultants, and internal departments.
  • Lead and mentor project team members and resolve stakeholder escalations and conflicts.
  • Analyze project data and performance indicators to improve operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of project management experience, including at least 10 years in a senior project management or deputy director capacity.
  • Airport development, cargo expansion, or airport operational project experience is required.
  • Knowledge of airport operations, aviation standards, and regulatory requirements is required.
  • Expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control is required.
  • Proficiency with PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management frameworks is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar project management tools is required.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, communication, organizational, and time management skills are required.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with airport infrastructure projects in the Middle East region is preferred.
  • Knowledge of aviation safety management systems and quality assurance protocols is preferred.

Work Location

  • The work location model is on-site.
  • Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
