Designs for Packaging machinery using and applying engineering principles & Customer spec.

Confer with team & technical sales personnel, to clarify specifications & develop designs.

Review drawings and bills of material within engineering team members to ensure QC.

Selects design options which assure proper performance, reliability, safety and manufacturability.

Complete mechanical engineering designs by calculating operational parameters such as speeds, gear ratios, drives, torques, velocities

Respond to questions from purchasing/manufacturing personnel for clarification of design.

Support field service for machine troubleshooting as needed.

Preparation and attending internal / external audits for dept.

Participation in functional and cross functional Continuous improvement initiatives

Bachelor’s degree with 8 + years of engineering experience in mechanical design of packaging machinery and factory automation.

Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, including gathering and analyzing information, and developing alternative solutions.

Have strong knowledge base of fabrication methods and processes, such as milling, turning, and welding, with an understanding of cost impacts.
